Last night's 'American Idol' kicked off with a huge group performance of Queen's 'Somebody to Love,' which concluded with a breathtaking note bellowed from Candice Glover and wow that girl can sing! In the end, Burnell Taylor got the boot, leaving only six 'Idol' hopefuls in the competition.

Even though it was predicted that Lazaro Arbos would be eliminated, he surprised the entire audience by being the last contestant announced to join Kree Harrison and Angie Miller in the Top 3. The judges watched the results unfold and were quite disappointed by the voter's choice to save Lazaro (there was one heck of an awkward silence on the judge's panel when the announcement was made).

In the midst of the drama, two artists whose path to fame started with 'Idol' -- country singers Carrie Underwood and Season 9's Casey James -- took the stage and debuted songs from their new albums. Carrie Underwood's performance of her new single, 'See You Again,' lacked the butt-kicking spunk and vocals that made 'Before He Cheats' a favorite of many. But no one can deny the girl's talent.

In the end, Burnell Taylor and Amber Holcomb landed in the bottom two. Nicki Minaj basically predicted that Burnell would be eliminated. "Physically and mentally he is a new person," she said. "I don't think Janelle is gonna go home tonight." Mariah Carey tried to console the two by saying, "You both can sing and I love you dearly."

Mariah's waterworks started when Randy Jackson made the announcement that the judges would not use the only "save" of the season to keep Burnell on the show. No judgements Mariah, most of the Top 6 shed tears for Burnell and I'm even sure some of you did at home.
