Actor Michael Clarke Duncan, famous for his breakout role as John Coffey in the movie ‘The Green Mile,’ has died at the age of 54, according to the Associated Press.

The AP is quoting Duncan’s fiancee, Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth, as the source on Clarke-Duncan’s death.

Manigault-Stallworth performed CPR and saved Clarke-Duncan’s life when he suffered a heart attack July 13. Clarke-Duncan was moved out of intensive care Aug. 6.

Clarke-Duncan’s role as John Coffey in ‘The Green Mile’ launched him to stardom in Hollywood. His portrayal of an uneducated man on death row for the murder of two young girls garnered him Best Supporting Actor nominations by both the Academy Awards and the Golden Globe Awards.
