Geoffery Owens, the former star of the Cosby Show, recently accepted a new job from Tyler Perry after being shamed for working at Trader Joe's.

According to People Magazine, Perry spoke of how he called Owens and said he has written him into 11 shows, but when he showed up for taping and saw him in costume he had 20,000 ideas for him.

Tyler also spoke about Owens financial struggles, as he was once homeless and slept in his car.

To get this place, just to have seen both sides of this, has been really incredible. And that’s why I feel like … I’m the guy for the underdog.

Owens recently opened up to being offered the role saying at first he didn't feel comfortable getting offered work because of what happened, but later reconsidered the part.

Maybe this is the cause that could actually bridge the divide in our country he said.  This could be a way for us to come together.

Owens plays a Senator and made his debut on Tyler Perry's The Haves and the Have Nots on Tuesday (October 2nd).
